Lime wash
Lime wash is a multilayer, protective coating usually applied on the exteriors of buildings. Lime washes have coated earthen buildings in India for centuries. Properly applied lime washes can last for several years, and resist a fair amount of wear and tear. Lime washes are easy, quick, economical and ecological. They can be mixed in various pastel shades, and appear slightly nuanced or cloudy. While not as dramatic as lime plasters, lime washes have a glow that is peculiar to lime, and a softness in the way it diffuses the light that chances upon its surface.
